Illinois, hosted several out-of-town NC Region members for two special events. The first was a day of reflection and spiritual retreat with Sr. Carolyn Enders, BSC from Little Portion Hermitage, which took place on Pentecost Sunday. Sr. Carolyn treated the Domestic brothers and sisters to two wonderful sessions of teaching and discussion during the afternoon. The first session was focused on how to handle the sufferings and trials of life in a godly way, particularly through practicing the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity. The second "little portion" of excellent teaching covered the ways we can foster unity in relationships and resolve conflict appropriately. Sr. Carolyn shared several very good principles to follow to help in reaching these two goals. In all, both sessions were very helpful and sparked some good discussion amongst all the attendees.
Paul & Katherine Ricciardi Renew Commitment to Novitiate Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God - January 1, 2007 Westmont, Illinois On January 1st, two members of the North Central Region renewed their commitment to living as Novices in the Domestic Expression of the Brothers and Sisters of Charity. Paul and Katherine Ricciardi of Westmont, Illinois, renewed their commitments with our Regional Minister, Andrew Billing, after Mass for the Feast of Mary, Mother of God. The Ricciardi's had taken a one-year leave of absence from their Novitiate in order to focus on the needs of their two-year old daughter, Alicia, who was born with a serious heart condition. Alicia is now doing very well, praise be to God, and Paul and Katherine are eager to resume their formation studies as Novices. Many members of Westmont's Holy Family Cluster Group were joined by family and friends from the parish to witness and celebrate with the Ricciardi's. ![]() ![]()
